2020 has challenged everyone in ways we never anticipated. But throughout it all, benefits leaders have risen to the challenge, tackling the challenge of managing newly-remote workforces and benefits packages to support evolving employee needs. At Carrot, we made a number of changes to support the ways people’s pursuits of parenthood have changed amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. And while we’re looking forward to a (hopefully) less tumultuous year ahead, we wanted to pause for a moment and reflect on some of the ways we’ve grown over the year.
We added coverage for Rx and Pregnancy.
In the early days of the pandemic, we realized that now more than ever before, our members need support from the comfort of home. We launched Carrot Pregnancy and Carrot Rx to give Carrot members access to more resources — online resources for learning about birth plans, video chats with pharmacists to navigate fertility medications, worry-free prescription refills, virtual visits with OB/GYNs, doulas, midwives, and more.
We brought care to you — no matter where you are.
We’ve always known telehealth was important — and this year, more than ever, people needed more options for pursuing parenthood outside of a clinic or office. So, in June, we launched Carrot at Home, combining our complete fertility and pregnancy telehealth solution with a partnership with the Ava bracelet, an evidence-based, clinically-backed ovulation tracking tool that helps females and couples get pregnant faster through timed intercourse. Carrot Core, our newest tier of service, made it easier than ever before for employers to balance budgets while bringing world-class family-forming care to their employees — no matter if they’re working at home or the office.
We expanded global access to fertility care.
Carrot expanded its global network to include nearly 4,000 eligible clinics, agencies, pharmacies, and legal services partners — the largest network of its kind. The Carrot Experts program also grew to include OB/GYNs, dietitians, doulas, midwives, and lactation consultants, as well as even more reproductive endocrinologists, urologists, mental health professionals, and adoption and legal experts. This means Carrot members have access to over 2,000 clinicians worldwide. We also gave our members the ability to request to be matched with a BIPOC provider at a Carrot in-network facility to improve access to culturally competent care. And the Carrot Card®, our flexible fertility debit card, is now available worldwide, removing one of the most significant barriers to high-quality care: cost.
We supported people’s pursuits of parenthood around the world.
Carrot supported the global workforce of companies like Box, Snap, Inc., Back on My Feet, and Peloton with fertility benefits this year. As a result, we worked with customers in more than 50 countries across six continents and ultimately made high-quality fertility and family-forming care available to over 100,000 people.
